TEENS MEDIA GROUP AND THE TARGET GROUP, DEFINED!

TEENS MEDIA GROUP is a media and the performing arts ministry for children and youths established to provide a platform where young people can easily access inspirational teachings, friendly counsel and holistic training to become morally upright, resourceful and contributing members of the society. Founded in December 2010, TEENS MEDIA GROUP is an indigenous voluntary, not for profit initiative whose goal is to intervene and contribute towards raising morally upright, resourceful and productive generation.

We employ innovate and creative approaches in communicating with the young people and implement our programmes through development, production and dissemination of youths friendly media and artistic productions.

Target beneficiaries
Working with schools, communities and institutions where children and youths are gathered, our programmes are designed for pre-teenagers and teenagers in and out of school.

Pre-teenagers
TEENS MEDIA GROUP defines pre-teenagers as children of 8-12 years old. We believe these are children who have not yet started going against rules and values taught by parents, teachers, communities and religions on avoiding risk-behavior. These children, who, in most cases will only be used or abused, are still vulnerable. Our communication resources and other programmes for this group teach life, and growing up as an adventure, with a destiny the child can influence, given the right guidance and making the right choices. The communications equips the pre-teenager with anticipation for changes of growing up, and warns of the danger of not listening to counsel and going against rules. It builds the invaluable preciousness of the family life and positive friendships. It prepares the child to cope with areas of vulnerability and establishes a supportive relationship with the parents, teachers and other responsible adults in the community where the child is growing in case the child needs counseling or referral for other support.

Programmes for teenagers
The resources under this are designed for the youth in Secondary Schools and Colleges and also those out of school and working class singles. It challenges them to discuss objectively, values they have started questioning or those they have abandoned altogether. It gives them a chance to eventually choose the best, the communications focuses on freedom, self-esteem, communication, self actualization, love, sex, romance without regret, family life, AIDS, practical friendships, dating for marriage, and Christianity. It provides a forum for discussing with the youth issues that they identify as major sources of confusion between fun and risk, as far as relationships and growing up are concerned.

GENERATION GAP CAN ONLY BE BRIDGED USING PROPER COMMUNICATION

A number of parents have either given up on their teen agers or are planning to do so just beacause they do not undrestand these teens and rush into blaming them with a common say " CHILDREN OF THESES DAYS" But in TEENS MEDIA we value them as they are and believe they can change when talked to that is why we call upon you to come to us once facing this challeng of bringing up a young person we can help you talk to him or her.

ACHOLI GIRLS

THEY ARE HEALTHY AND GOOD LOOKING AS YOU CAN SEE.

BUT FOR MANY YEARS, THEY WERE NEVER SETTLED; RUNNING FROM ONE VILLAGE TO ANOTHER, SQUEEZED IN IDP CAMPS, SUFFERING WITHOUT SUPPORT AND CARE. GUNSHOTS EVERYWHERE!

Today they are back home. They can now socialize and do the old days' activities.

TEENS MEDIA GROUP is also able to reachout to them, interact with them and help them paritipate in constructive activities. They need love! AND LIKE WE at TMG VOWED, "WE WILL STAY AWAKE WHILE OTHERS GO TO BED SO THAT THE CHILDREN AND YOUTHS AT TEENAGE MAY HAVE A VIBRANT FUTURE" Gira Emmanuel-TEAM LEADER TEENS MEDIA GROUP
