"There is no doubt that Uganda is a conflict country, whether you take it at a macro-level or micro-level. At the macro-level, Uganda has fought many more wars than any other East African country, both civil and interstate wars. Over the years, Uganda has had war with Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Rwanda. At the micro-level, there are many conflicts at the community level that distort the peaceful aspirations of citizens. Many of these are most probably unknown to us. Therefore when we talk about playing a role in peace building, we are talking about something that is relevant both to the real and contextual condition of our existence".
